Some people think that Australian giants look like a cross between a squid and a octopus, but they are actually more closely related to cuttlefish than either of those creatures!

The world’s biggest octopus

The world’s biggest octopus was recorded by researchers from the University of Queensland in Australia. The octopus, which measures 19 inches (48 cm) from head to tail, is nearly twice the size of any previously recorded octopus. The giant Pacific octopus, also known as the blue octopus, is the largest species of octopus in the world and can weigh up to 18 pounds (8 kg).
